Jasper Shuoyang Zheng (he/him) is a PhD student at the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM), Queen Mary University of London, supported by the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI and Music (AIM). His works explore AI systems through their convergence with media and arts, primarily focusing on the development of interactive and understandable tools that facilitate musical creations and expressions, and on the understanding of how these technological advances impact artistic practices. Besides technological perspectives, he is equally interested in the aesthetical and ethical implications inherent to the development of AI.
Jasper is also an associate lecturer at the Creative Computing Institute (CCI), University of the Arts London, leading the BSc Mathematics and Statistics for Data Science unit, assisting the MSc Exploring Machine Intelligence unit. Previously, he got a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Liverpool. In 2021/22, he spent a year at CCI to pursue an MSc in Creative Computing, and wrote his thesis on real-time interface for human-AI interaction.
